Helen Ladds

Instructing Team:
BASI Level 2

Where

Originally from Nottingham, Helen found her passion for skiing while exploring resorts across Europe, from Italy and France to Switzerland. In 2018, she made Zermatt her home, drawn to its unique charm and world-class slopes.

Why

Helen’s love for the mountains was sparked during a break from her fast-paced city job in London. What began as a short sabbatical quickly turned into a life-changing passion for the outdoors and mountain lifestyle. She decided to make the switch permanent and hasn’t looked back. Now, Helen shares this joy with her clients, whether it’s guiding beginners through their first turns, boosting the confidence of more nervous skiers, or challenging more advanced skiers to push their limits. For her, the key to success is enjoyment—she believes the best skier on the mountain is the one having the most fun.

How

Helen’s journey as an instructor began on an indoor slope in the UK, where she quickly discovered how rewarding it was to teach others to ski. This newfound passion led her to pursue further qualifications and relocate to the Alps. Alongside her teaching, she’s gained a wealth of experience in roles like concierge, chalet host, and nanny, allowing her to offer a well-rounded, personalised experience to each client.

Coaching Philosophy

“I aim to create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment where learning comes naturally. When we’re relaxed and enjoying ourselves, we’re more open to growth and challenge. My approach is always personalised - focused on each individual’s goals, needs, and past experiences. Together, we can set realistic goals and have fun reaching them.”
