Will Dickinson

Instructing and Coaching Team:
BASI Level 4 ISTD

Where

Hailing from the North West of England, Will has spent the last 11 years working and teaching in different resorts across Switzerland. During this time he progressed his own skiing and teaching, before moving to Zermatt permanently in 2019.

Why

Will has always been happiest in the mountains since his first experience skiing at a young age with his family. He decided to pursue a career in snowsports at 18 and quickly found a love for teaching and in sharing his passion for the sport and lifestyle. Will takes pride in tailoring lessons to individuals of all abilities and ages to help them achieve their goals – and have fun while doing it!

How

Beginning his own progression as an instructor with BASI, Will passed his first exam in 2013 in the UK before moving to Switzerland for the winter seasons. Initially spending 4 winters in Flims Laax, Will developed his teaching ability, learning a lot about the mountains and other aspects of the lifestyle- while doing a lot of off piste and park skiing with his friends in his free time. He has continued to work and train in an effort to continue through the BASI progression, spending time in Verbier and Villars before arriving in Zermatt, where he has since achieved the highest qualification in both the British and Swiss snowsports systems.

Coaching Philosophy

Having personally benefited from a variety of learning styles over the years, Will understands the importance for every session to be delivered in the way most applicable to his clients’ needs. He has built upon his repertoire of teaching approaches to be sure he is capable of providing the best possible opportunity for his guests to progress. Whether the guest is looking for detailed specifics or a general focus to facilitate a fun day on the mountain, Will is happy to adapt. As he continues his own personal development, Will recognises the need to simply enjoy time on skis in the mountains with good people and a great lunch!
